The 5 Kilometer (5k) is among the most famous and well-participated race lengths in the world. Running 5k has never been popular than now. Running is one of the basic skills we learn as an animal.

The 5 Kilometer (5k) is among the most famous and well-participated race lengths in the world. A 5k distance run is equated to 3.1 miles. Since the 5k run is probably the shortest races, it's very popular among newbie athletes who want to try out racing and among advance runners who wish to have shorter goals.

Many people beginner and novice runners run 5k even children enjoy this distance. So do people continue to run 5k? Below are few reasons:

To try running first. The 5k run is often the shortest distance offered by running organizations. This is a good start before the 10 k or any higher races.
