The sales value of virtual reality headsets could reach $1.1 billions by the end of 2016 and it’s also expected to grow to $2.7 billions by 2020. That means the virtual reality market could see a substantial growth in only 4 years. Oculus Rift sales are expected to be around 560,000 units and HTC Vive almost 440,000 during 2016. This sounds great but the crown of this race according to IHC will probably go to Sony. An important factor to why Playstation VR will probably see a bigger growth during 2016 is the price of the headset. Its price may be lower than Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Also, with more than 20 Million Playstation 4 owners around the world, Sony is selling its VR product to an already established community, one that is eager taking the next step forwards.

Anyways, these are only predictions, with no way of confirming the results until the headsets finally get released. Until then, stay tuned to our site for more VR news, as well as more informative topics on the business side of the VR industry.
