The phone comes with a comprehensive spec list,The Stunning Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Is A Superb Multimedia Smartphone Articles which makes it great for everyday use, whilst it excels at multimedia tasks. This article introduces the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo and it’s key features, and looks at who this particular handset will appeal to and why.

Styling

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is certainly a stylish handset. These days, it can be hard to tell one smartphone model apart from anther. This is certainly not the case with the Xperia Neo. The slimline (13mm) handset certainly looks unique with a futuristic design, nicely complimented with silver trim down the sides and on the side buttons (volume rocker keys and camera shortcut button). There are 3 shortcut keys at the base of the 3.7 inch screen which dominates the front of the phone. If you are into the design of your phone and are looking for a model which breaks the mould and really stands out from the crowd, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo could prove the ideal choice.

Screen

The 3.7 inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen on the phone is superb. Not only does it offer a lightning fast and interactive means of navigating the Timescape UI, but it also provides the power to display your photos, videos, games and webpages with the utmost clarity and quality. Whilst the screen may not be the biggest in the world (but by no means the smallest), it certainly makes up for this in resolution and display quality. The screen packs a whopping 480x 854 pixels within its dimensions, and is able to display up to 16 million colours. Yes, there are screens which are more advanced, but these are on high end devices with price tags to match. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo offers much more than an advanced touchscreen though...

Multimedia

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo really comes into its own in the multimedia arena. The spec list of the device boasts some nice music, video and gaming features, along with the hardware to match. Numerous formats of music and video files are supported by the internal media player, and users have an 8GB microSD card pre-installed on the phone to keep their files safely stored. The added bonus is that this can be replaced with a card of up to 32GB. An HDMI port is included; this allows the handset to be connected to a compatible TV, whereby music, videos and photos can be streamed and enjoyed on the big screen. TrackID is an application which is included as standard on the phone. It allows users to identify a music track simply by activating the application and holding it near a speaker; the music database will then find a match and display the details on screen almost instantly. A 1GHz processor is on hand to provide all the necessary computing power to run these applications smoothly, and ensuring that no lag is experienced when operating the touchscreen.

Of course there is much more to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo than just its multimedia features. Super fast Wi-Fi internet browsing, Android 2.3 OS, and an 8 MP camera with HD video capture all add to the appeal of this device. It is clear though, who this phone is aimed at; if you are an avid user of multimedia, and want a phone which is capable of handling these tasks yet remains stylish (the handset will also be released in several colour variants), then the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo may be worth a closer look.
