18 Holes of Paradise

Personally, I can not think of a better way of spending an afternoon than exploring well kept grounds in Arizona...

They say that you should take up a hobby prior to retiring, and I have done just that. Although I may be about 23 years away from retiring, I felt it essential to obtain a good understanding for the game of golf. The game, as I am sure many are aware, is thought to have originated in Scotland sometime around the medieval period. With a variety of clubs, all having slightly different angles on the heads, one attempts to drive a small ball a lengthy distance to a tiny hole. Sounds difficult? It can be. It can also serve as a source of relaxation. Personally, I can not think of a better way of spending an afternoon than exploring well kept grounds in Arizona. Arizona has always been a golf hot-spot. Many attribute this to the vast amounts of retired couples, but one must also consider the states climate and terrain. Arizona's weather is amazing, you can golf all year round if you truly wanted to. Many of the residents pack up the clubs in the Winter season, but if you are from the northern states, or even Canada, the weather in Arizona is more than likely well above your seasonal highs. For this reason, the courses remain open all year round.
There are courses situated throughout Arizona that hardcore golfers will suggest: Arizona Grand Resort which is situated in Phoenix, Eagle Mountain Golf Club which can be found in Fountain Hills, and Kierland Golf Club which is in Scottsdale. All of these courses and many more are worth the trip, but if you are a first timer, I would suggest Tucson. It has three great courses that I am aware of: Omni, The Lodge at Ventana Canyon, and Starr Pass. All hotels in Tucson will have information on these particular coursesFree Web Content, and it is more than likely that all Arizona hotels can provide you with the necessary information to truly enjoy your golf get-a-way. Come see for yourself.
