Petticoat Creek Conservation Park

The Petticoat Creek Conversation area is a family-friendly park with picnic sites and a waterfront trail near Lake Ontario. It is a natural corridor with trees and animals and then the shore of Lake Ontario. When you enter from the main entrance you cross the Petticoat Creek and enter the picnic grounds on the shores of the lake. There are picnic tables, a meadow, viewpoint and washrooms. There is a pool and a splash pad too near the changing rooms and snack bar. There are six picnic sites with sitting facilities and shelters. You can make use of this when taking your family out. The waterfront Trails has some great views and you can enjoy a walk there. The kiddies will love the wading pools. The park is around 40 kilometres away and will take you at max an hour to drive here.

Bronte Creek Park

The park is located in Oakville along the Bronte Creek. It is around 5 kilometres away from Toronto and it may take you 30-40 minutes to drive here. There are thousands of picnic tables scattered throughout the park and you can take your family here for a nice outdoor picnic. Apart from there are other places of interest like the Spruce lane farm where a restored Victorian farmhouse is decorated in the original style. On certain days they host special events such as jam making, farmhand activities, ghost walks and the maple syrup festival. There is a pool and picnic shelters which can be booked. The park also has campgrounds if you want to stay overnight. Bronte Creek Park is large and a great place for a picnic with the family.

Blue Mountain and Collingwood

The Blue Mountain Ski Resort is good for a day trip from Toronto. It is only 2.5 hours away and you can drive there with your family. Skiing, biking, hiking and zip-lining are all available here so you can have fun. While snowshoeing, skating and tubing are open in winter. The hot tubs and the pool are open all year round. Boyd Conservation Area

The Boyd Conservation Area is in Vaughan, Ontario and is a park that offers a lot of outdoor activities. Many local residents enjoy it as a popular picnic spot. There are game courts, picnic shelters and children’s playgrounds. The 17 picnic sites can accommodate large family groups and they have picnic shelters too if you want a respite from the sun. There are washroom facilities onsite and hiking trails. There are plenty of open grounds where you can play and have fun. It is around 45 km away from Toronto so you can drive there with family.

Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park
