Have you heard that story of 5 blind men who analysed different parts of
an elephant, and came up with their own versions of how the elephant
feels and looks like?
Talking about Lancashire is quite similar; different people have different opinions and stories about Lancashire. I was in Lancashire last month, and though I was on a business visit, I ended-up exploring a large part of Lancashire. If you ask me, Lancashire is the most-beautiful place on earth (well, at least, I believe so). And, I’ve listed here a total of 7 things that a tourist should never miss out on during his/her stay here. Here are they:
1.Lancashire Food and Drink Festival
If you’re here during the April-June months, make sure you don’t miss out on the Lancashire Food and Drink Festival; here you’ll get to meet the local bakers, brewers, butchers and celebrated chefs, and also an opportunity to quiz the experts, sample dishes and get inspiration for new cooking and baking ideas. You’re not going to miss out on so much of fun, right?
Put me on a cycle, and I can ride it for hours! Just get on the machine, and enjoy being in the stunning countryside for hours; go cycling along Lancashire’s canals.
All you’ve to do it get on your feet and walk to the top of the Pendle Hill for a never-before experience.
4.Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the most-visited amusement park in the United Kingdom. You’re going to love every single moment of your life here!
5.Galleries and Museums
There is no compulsion; consider galleries and museums only if you’re interested in Lancashire’s legends and rich history. Accrington’s Haworth Gallery, Preston’s illustrious Harris Museum, Grundy Art Gallery, and interactive Helmshore Mills Textile Museum are the best destinations for history and art-lovers.
I can hear you shouting with joy at my very mention of shopping! From historic farmers’ markets to ornate covered Victoria stall, factory outlets and mill shops, there is something for everyone in Lancashire. Let me also mention the buzzing city of Preston, where you will find everything, right from high street favourites and department stores to independent boutiques.
Have I mentioned this food thing already? Okay, I admit I have, but I just can’t stop thinking and mentioning about Lancashire food and drinks; the taste just takes you in a different world!
I’m a big fan of Lancashire Food and drinks; you’ll never find such taste anywhere in the world. And, The Three Fishes is my all-time destination when I feel like tangling my taste-buds. If you want to know more about The Three Fishes, you’ll find everything at this website.
