Bhatinda is full of Punjabi colours. The city is one of the abodes of Guru Gobind Singhji and rich in with culture and tradition. Here is a brief description of the place.

Bhatinda is one the oldest cities of Punjab,A slice of Punjab- the old city of Bhatinda Articles located at an altitude of 210 metres .It is the battlefield of Guru Gobind Singhji and the Mughals. Bhatinda had a strong past of rebelling against the British Raj. The modern Bhatinda was established by a Bhati Rajput king in 965 AD. Bhatinda also houses one of the oldest and the highest small brick monuments in India, Qila Mubarak. The artificial lakes gave Bhatinda its nick name as the ‘City of Lakes’. It is located in the north western India in the Malwa region and it is 225 km away from the capital city, Chandigarh. Earlier, it was also known as Tabar-e-Hind, meaning the Gateway to India. As Bhatinda is one of the booming tourist destinations of India, Bhatinda hotels are available with different tariffs.

 

Bhatinda is a very popular city of Punjab and is known for its rich culture and historic monuments. Old monuments and structures are the evidence dating back to 3000 B.C. Bhatinda has an average elevation of 201 metres. Bhatinda is known for its contribution in cotton and food-grain, handloom weaving and thermal power plants. Plus, it also has one of the largest railway junctions in India. Bhatinda has its own charm, being a slice of Punjab. this place is full of life. The dazzling festivals, the spicy foods, the colourful dresses, Bhatinda is the place where you can enjoy your weekend.

 

The Gurudwara in the middle of Lakhi jungle is a very popular place and attracts lots of devotees. Just 15 km away from Bhatinda, the jungle derives its name from the holy past.There are only few places to see in Bhatinda . Qila Mubarak is the important one, which is also known as Bhatinda fort, is about 1400 years old and is centrally located in the city. This Qila is the oldest monument in the city was the resident of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. Razia Sultana was also imprisoned here. Built with small bricks, this Qila Mubarak is a great place for photo shoot and it also houses two gurudwaras. The fort will give you the image of the history. This fort is worth visiting for history buffs. Bahia Fort which was built in the year 1930 has now transformed itself into one of the famous and wonderful 4 star hotels in Bathinda. The city even preserves its natural beauty; the rose garden holds some great variety of roses. It covers total 40,000 sq. metres area and it is located near the Thermal Plant. The best time to visit this garden is in winter when the whole garden blooms in all colours of roses. Chetak Park is also a popular picnic spot and it has a garden and lake and a good place for kids.

The best season to best Bhatinda is from February to December. There are not many Bathinda hotels but the hotels in the city central are good and equipped with all the necessary amenities. Even few hotels offers pick and drop service from the nearest railway station or bus terminus.
