Comedy Fest The Cap City Comedy Club has been holding an annual Comedy Fest each year during the first Saturday in March. Anyone can participate in this day long comedy fest that features yet undiscovered talent. This is open to the public, although there is an admission charge. Alamo Memorial Days During Memorial Day weekend, you might want to head over to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum so that you can learn about the Alamo Battle and also watch battle re-enactments. The Battle of the Alamo was where legendary frontiersman, Davy Crockett, was killed. The Alamo Memorial Days also include food and Texas Music. Annual Tex Mex Festival and Parade Independence Day is fun in Austin, Texas, and you can enjoy the American Independence Day with the Tex Mex Festival and parade. This festival combines both Texan and Mexican cultures in food, music and even parade floats and makes it one big celebration, right in the heart of Austin. There are also fireworks displays in the evening. If you have never tried Tex Mex food before, you are in for a treat when you visit Texas. Austin Wildflower Show The Annual Austin Wildflower Show is held at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Wildflowers are cultivated in these gardens and are in full bloom during the third weekend in June. Although the center is open throughout the year, if you want to enjoy the Wildflower Show and see some of the most colorful cultivated wildflowers, you can do so at this annual event. Haunted Austin!
