A small town with a population of approximately 25,000 located just 2 hours north of Rio de Janeiro, it is the perfect getaway from the busyness of the “Marvelous City.”

Buzios is on a small peninsula that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. It has over 20 beaches, each of which has different characteristics; they can be divided into 2 major categories. It is ideal for practicing water sports because of its tranquil waters, jet ski and wind surf; For travelers interested in eating and drinking, there are restaurants, bars, small kiosks with food. The beach is surrounded by elegant summer homes. The nearby Ferradurinha is tucked into a rocky cove and has waters so clear and tranquil that it is like a swimming pool. It is perfecting for kayaking or a romantic beach picnic.  Both beaches are close to the center of Búzios on the Praia do Canto side.

For visitors looking for a small break from the beaches, Buzios has a few ecological reserves that showcase the flora and fauna of the Atlantic forest. The Emerências Reserve houses forest species in danger of extinction and an extensive system of walking trails. About 30 minutes from Búzios, there are also the Sana and Casimiro de Abreu reserves. Meanwhile, visitors to the Taua EcoCultural Complex, a private project, will be treated to a colorful collection of native birds, butterfliesFeature Articles, and flowers.
