It has an unusual tradition where children take the surname of the mother and the husband of the youngest daughter lives with the girl’s family.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand - Rishikesh means ‘Lord of Senses’ or ‘Lord Vishnu’ and is considered as a holy city. It is a meat and alcohol-free city due to it’s spiritual environment and is famous for adventures sports such as Bungee Diving and Whitewater Rafting. Several temples are along the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh.

Lonavala, Maharashtra - The word Lonavala literally means ‘A resting place carved with stone’. It is known for the production of Indian hard candy commonly called as ‘Chikki’. It is famous for Waterfalls, Caves, Lakes and Viewpoints. Best time to visit Lonavala is during or after monsoons. Trekking, Hiking and Camping are best activities to do in Lonavala.

Matheran, Maharashtra - Matheran means ‘Forest on the Forehead’. It is the smallest hill station in India. Unique thing about this place is it is auto-mobile free. Vehicles are not allowed, not even bicycles.

Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir - Gulmarg literally means ‘Meadow of Flowers’. According to CNN, it is the ‘Heartland of winter sports in India’ and is the Asia’s seventh skiing destination. It is within miles of Line of Control between India and Pakistan. It is like a fantasy place coming straight out of your dreams. It is filled with daisies, blueberries and many other flowers.
