Five Hotels with secrets

  1. Hôtel Ritz Paris – Paris, France: While the Ritz de Paris doesn’t exactly  qualify as a cheap hotel, it does rank as one of the best topsecret hotels in Europe, due mostly to the architecture and design of the building itself. But most patrons of the hotel, the likes of which include famous celebrities, never notice the fact that they seem to magically "radiate" as they traverse up or down the stairs. It was designed that way; the effect is achieved through the use of good illumination, exact location, and even the actual pitch of the staircase.
  2. Hotel Il Girasole - Capri: An island located off the Sorentine Peninsula in Italy, Capri has been a resort destination since Roman times – and because of this, it boasts some of Europe’s most topsecret hotels. Located all the way past the ending point of the village of Anacapri and down a lizard-covered walkway you’ll find the Hotel Il Girasole. Although it is one of the more secluded of the topsecret hotels, it’s well worth the walk.
  3. The Ragged Cot Inn, Gloucestershire: Proving you don't have to travel far to find topsecret hotels, the Ragged Cot sits alongside 600 acres of pristine National Trust common land in Gloucestershire. Built from local stone and sections dating back as far as the 17th century the inn boasts a haunted history. According to popular legend, the ghosts that frequent the Ragged Cot include the murdered wife and child of its very first landlord. With moderate pricing on both rooms and meals, the Ragged Cot is also rather cheap hotel compared to some of the others on our list.
  4. Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa - Haslemere: Parts of the Lythe Hill Hotel near Haslemere -- close to the Surrey borders of Hampshire and West Sussex -- date back to the 15th century and the Wars of the Roses; not surprising then that this is another of our topsecret hotels which is said to be haunted. Guests are invited to sleep in the most haunted rooms, the former bedrooms of Katharine of Aragon and Anne of Cleeves, the first and fourth wives of Henry VIII.
  5. Littlecote House Hotel - Chilton Foliat: There are many lurid scandals surrounding the rich history of the Littlecote House Hotel, near Ramsbury, Wiltshire – enough scandals in fact that this medieval-style mansion rounds out our list of Europe’s best topsecret hotels. One of the last owners, "Wild" William Darrell was linked to embezzlement, adultery and even child-murder. Some say his tortured ghost remains as a permanent guest of the hotel. Is that true? WellPsychology Articles, it's a secret ...
