Five-Star Hotels Should Have You Relaxing In Luxury

If you are looking into hotels to stay at for your next vacation or business trip, you may be wondering what makes up the difference between those that are rated with two or three stars and the illustrious five stars. There are a number of different answers.

You may not recognize five-star hotels immediately when you see them, but you will certainly recognize one if you stay there.

The world's elite hotels are distinguished from their competitors in a number of different ways, all of which contribute to a particular location being tagged with such a prestigious rating. While many places may look nice or have a number of amenities, the best cover all of the bases and then some.

Five-star hotels start with appearance and work outward. Any hotel that is rated as being elite has to be pleasing to all of the five senses, starting with sight. From the lobby to the restaurants and bars to the rooms and even the elevators and halls, every decoration, piece of furniture or material used to outfit such a place must be top-of-the-line and on the cutting edge of both comfort and decor.

Beyond how it looks, a hotel of this type must also 'wow' its guests with its level of service. Beginning when you first step into the lobby to check in and ending when you leave after checking out, the service at such a venue should make you feel like you haven't had to lift a finger during your entire stay. It's not all about convenience either - anyone who waits on you during your visit should make you feel as if it is their pleasure to serve you.

While appearance, comfort and service are arguably the three most important aspects of what goes into making a hotel worthy of the highest rating it can receive, the amenities it offers also go a long way as well.

In terms of guest comfort, all elite hotels should feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, typically a swimming pool as well and other features such as a spa or other areas to relax and be pampered.

Areas to unwind, entertain guests or simply have a good meal are important as well. On-site restaurants and bars should be high-quality and able to cater to the needs of the guests of the hotel. Adding room service to this equation can also add to the convenience of the stay.

Finally, all of these various features and amenities should be able to be accessed and utilized with relative ease. Being user-friendly is a hallmark trait of any good hotel and goes a long way towards helping visitors have the easiest, most convenient and most enjoyable stay that they possibly can.

Hotels that offer all of these features and characteristics are those that can potentially receive such a high rating simply because they are the ones that leave no stone left unturned when it comes to making sure that every guest has all of his or her needs completely covered.
