Guide to Linate Airport by the Milan Airport Guide

If you are planning a trip to Milan, this article is for you. The Milan Airport Guide provides an engaging and informative guide to Linate Airport for the thousands of UK visitors that travel through it each year.

For a weekend away sure to stimulate all your senses, Milan is definitely the destination to visit. Full of breath-taking architecture, sumptuous food, fine wines and soft silk garments, the joie de vivre of the Milanese is infectious and just under 2 hours by plane from the UK. As the closest airport to the city centre, Linate Airport is just 4 miles away and the most practical option for those wanting a city break.   The best way to take full advantage of your time in this amazing city, is to arrange a Linate Airport Car Hire. Although there are 11 rental companies in total, only 4 are located within the terminal building and for convenience sake it is advisable to use one of these firms if travelling with children, the elderly or in-firmed. The other Linate Airport Car Rental Firms can be reached via a free shuttle bus.   If you are planning to do most of your sightseeing by foot than a Linate Airport Transfers is the most stress free way of getting from the airport to your accommodation. By booking in advance, a driver will meet you in arrivals and spirit you away without any need for queuing or hanging about. There are no trains from the airport but there is a station in the centre which can be reached either by taxi, picked up in front of the terminal, or by one of the many regular buses that also go to destinations further afield like Malpensa, Pavia, Brescia and Verona.   As it is Italy you can expect the good food and great shopping to start the minute you set foot in the airport. The wide selection of stores tempt with leather goods, clothes, underwear, jewellery and perfume, as well as the more regular duty free, newspaper and confectionery outlets. There is also a pharmacy should you need anything to stave off any repercussions of over-indulging, a virtual certainty in Milan.   If you still have room for more then there is a restaurant serving great examples of the local cuisine with a fabulous view looking out over Linate. Alternatively for more modest fare several cafes and bars offer lighter snacks and beverages. Should you need to confess your sins the chapel is located outside the arrivals hall and tourist information desks are situated on both floors detailing local attractions, shows and exhibitions.   To draw money there are several cashpoints, 2 banks and 3 money exchange offices. Left luggage is on the ground floor and as well as enquiring about misplaced baggage, you can also store items here at a rate of €3.50 - €4.00 each per day.    Those that are members of the SEA Club, currently priced at €800 per year, have entry to three VIP lounges which have Internet access, dedicated check ins and other exclusive benefits. For handicapped persons there is a specially dedicated lounge on the first floor called Sala Amica. Other considerations for the handicap include wheelchair rampsPsychology Articles, specially adapted toilets and lifts and reserved parking places.
