When it's time to find condo rentals in the city or place you've chosen for your getaway, consider a few options and measure a couple of facts about the property before proceeding with the lease contract. First think of the weather in a particular environment and the time of year. These are the months when the stifling heat and humidity can really cripple a person who isn't accustomed to the severity of a southern summer, when hurricane winds blow up from the Gulf of Mexico. Conversely, think of the options available to you weather-wise when considering the next trip to the mountains of the continental U.S. There certainly can be some mild conditions, but the months of April and October, normally somewhat fair weather months, can be tricky. It's not a rarity for a snowstorm to sneak up on unsuspecting families as they traverse these high altitude regions.

Another idea to consider when moving your money into a vacation that could be the best of times or the worst of times is the age of the building and accompanying property. If you've never viewed the building with your own eyes, what is referred to as sight unseen, then you may want to gauge with a critical eye whatever information is available. Don't be afraid to contact a previous lessee and ask pertinent questions. If there are testimonials, read them. They may offer some insights for what exactly you might expect from your vacation stay-over. This is the classic Hollywood scenario, where the family packs up the station wagon and drives across the desert in the heat of summer, only to discover that the condo rentals advertised were much less optimal than they could have ever imagined. Almost could be the introduction for a horror movie.

Nightmarish scenarios aside, there are many reputable rental companies who are offering the best of all possible worlds for your getaway. Condo rentals can be a wonderful experience, if you do your homework. And read the fine print in the contract, just in case the cleaning deposit is non-refundable, or the security deposit has a multiple of three times what you can afford when evidence of cigarette smoking or pet occupancy is uncovered.
