Hawaii Vacation Choices

Occasionally we all need a bit of time away from the concerns of everyday life. Vacations in Hawaii will provide you with time in the sun to relax and enjoy yourself.

Imagine sitting on a tropical beach taking in the sun. Can you imagine the peace you would enjoy escaping the everyday grind? A vacation in Hawaii will allow you to have that respite.

No matter the time of year you'll head to the Hawaiian Islands, the temperatures are mild. You don't have to be worried about winter's cold or summer's heat in Hawaii. Every day of the year, the temperature will be warm enough to go swimming but not so hot to go outdoors. If you might be a surfing enthusiast, the best waves generally are seen throughout the winter months. Even on the warmest days of summer, the tradewinds provide cooling breezes.

It is possible to devote all of your time at only the one particular island you like best, or enjoy the sights and sounds of all six. It's your choice, and each island has its own attractions and natural beauty to suit every taste.

Oahu is one of the most visited islands in Hawaii. Even if it is just to change planes at the Honolulu airport, most vacationers travel to Oahu. On Oahu, you will see the modern city of Honolulu, which is Hawaii's state capitol. You'll also discover world famous Waikiki beach. On the southern shore are Pearl Harbor and also the museum which honors the USS Arizona that was sunk at the beginning of World War II.

Kauai is the most northern island in the archipelago, and is also the oldest island in Hawaii. Kauai is a romantic island famous for its natural beauty, and it is also perfect for an outdoor adventure vacation for tourists of every age. The famed Coconut Coast is on the eastern side of the island, with its marvelous sandy beaches that are a treat for sunbathing and relaxing, or should you journey over to the west side of the island you will find what is called the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific' - the Waimea Canyon. Close by is the Kokee State Park, a recreation area of remarkable natural beauty offering a number of trails that can be followed to experience some of the rarest birds in Hawaii along with plants that can be found only in the rainforest.

To the south of Oahu is Molokai with a large population of indigenous Hawaiian people. You will discover a number of events that are associated with the native Polynesian customs and heritage.

Lanai does not have any traffic lights. It is one of the least crowded of all of the Islands and it is an ideal spot for romance and privacy. Additionally, you'll find two very good golf courses.

Maui lies in the heart of the migration route of humpback whales, and a lot of people come here in winter to watch these whales. Maui's beaches are considered to be the best in the world, and are popular with many visitors seeking a Hawaiian beach vacation without the crowds in Honolulu.

The Big Island of Hawaii is just that - big. This island has more land area than all of the other islands of Hawaii put together. Of the thirteen climatic zones that are on earth, eleven are to be found here. On Hawaii's Big Island is an active volcano, black sand beaches and snowcapped mountains.

A cruise to Hawaii is one way to visit the islands. A seven-day cruise will provide you with close to a day and a half on each of the Hawaiian Islands together with great cuisine and sleeping onboard the cruise ship. Most of these cruises will start out and end in Honolulu and feature entertainment as you journey around the islands.
