Free Wi-Fi
Paying for the internet at every place you stay in, sometimes on a per day basis, will add up quickly. If you happen to be a business traveler, internet is a necessity. Also, if you have children, more than likely they will not be happy to live without access for more than a couple days. More hotels are offering this as a standard to compete with one another, as they know consumers are searching for this. 

Toiletry Kit
When entering the bathroom, next to the sink is usually two mini bars of soap, hand towels and the travel size shampoo and conditioner. When you enter a bathroom and they have more than the bare minimum it is always a nice surprise and sometimes contains things you’ve forgotten to pack. Providing a sewing kit, razor, mini toothbrush and toothpaste, and shower cap always makes the stay more comfortable as you don’t have to go find that emergency drug store to get these items. It makes the hotel feel that they’ve thought about their customers and offered more than just the bare minimum.

Most hotels have this, or you can call the concierge for it, but an iron is a must. It’s even better when the iron is already in the room and ready to be used. No matter how much you iron, and neatly fold clothing in your suitcase, some items always end up wrinkled. For business travelers, this is very important.

In a caffeinated society, people depend on that first cup of coffee in the morning, but often refrain from paying the $3 or $4 per cup of coffee that some major chains charge. Stay a week somewhere and you could be spending anywhere from $15 to $20 on coffee alone, assuming you only drink a cup a day. When you have a coffee maker and coffee provided, you will be thanking the hotel for saving you that money.

24 Hour Room Service
You may not even use it, but the one time it is not offered is when you will want this service most. Being able to have room service at 10 o’clock at night when you do not want to leave your room is convenient amenity to make you feel like you’re a little spoiled on vacation.
