How to make most of the Thanksgiving Weekend!

Thanksgiving Day is a wonderful occasion to celebrate the blessing of the harvest and moving towards a new beginning of the year. Every fourth Thursday of November is celebrated as Thanksgiving Day in the US.

Thanksgiving is all about tasting good food, enjoying parties, dinners and celebrating the event with musical parades and festivities. It is a wonderful time when people enjoy, have fun and cherish the good times. This much awaited weekend is celebrated with great enthusiasm and thrill throughout the nation. While most of us are following the same traditions from the past few years, there are many who have lost interest in the felicitations and find the rituals a boring affair now.

If you too are among those who think Thanksgiving is just sharing food and attending fests, here is a list of things and activities that could be done apart from the common chores and gestures that will make you utilize your weekend in the best manner.

  1. Watch a Movie: Watching a movie is the best thing that could be done to make any day interesting. Whether you wish to watch a latest movie or have a huge pile that you haven’t watched from a long time. Call up your movie buddy, set your home theatre and watch them all out. And if you are not in a mood to stay at home for the movie, head to a nearby Cineplex and enjoy a movie with a basket full of popcorn.
  2. Meet your Old friends: When was the last time you met your favorite group of friends together? Don’t even remember, right? Then, this Thanksgiving Day plan an outing with your high school buddies and make your weekend a great one. Hang out at your favorite place, eat at that popular restaurant and have lots of fun. Can there be a better idea of spending a weekend? Of course not! Then what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone, fix a place and raise the toast for your friendship.
  3. Go for a Family Picnic: Family get together is a fun way to interact and come closer to all the family members who hardly get time to talk due to their busy schedules. Thanksgiving weekend is an ideal time to spend some quality time with family and create magical memories. Going out for a picnic will not only double up the fun of the weekend, but will also help you make your family members happy. Take a long drive and choose a spot to spend the day.
  4. Spare Time for Yourself: The hectic routines have made us slaves of time that leaves no moment of self-care and introspection. While the whole world is busy celebrating the event, how about giving some attention to yourself? This might sound strange, but there are moments in life when we need to stay alone for some time and think only about ourselves. This Thanksgiving, go to a spa, meditate and relax yourself with the pleasures that make you feel good.
  5. Escape to a Stress free break: It’s time to take that long pending break because your job and other priorities didn’t let you do so for the last few months. Take your travel buddy along or whosoever you feel like spending a break with and make the best of this Thanksgiving Day. You could even explore that destination your friend told you about or visit the spot which you like to visit again and again. There are several websites who offer thanksgiving travel deals, so you can take benefit of them too.

Since the event is approaching fastComputer Technology Articles, it’s high time to plan something. Choose any of these activities and do something different this Thanksgiving.
