International Conference in Florence about Architectural Patrimony

Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance as well as being a city with an impressive number of artistic and architectural works. For these characteristics, the famous Tuscan city will be the site of an important event dedicated to the enhancement and preservation of architectural heritage. It will not be yet another show, but an international conference dedicated to the architectural heritage not only in Florence, but throughout the world.The event, organized by the International Scientific Committee for Theory and Philosophy of Conservation and Restoration, will take place at the Congress Centre in the Florence Cathedral Auditorium al Duomo from 5th to 8th March 2015. We will discuss about how to evaluate the architectural heritage and share assumptions, methodologies, and examples of systems of valuation of assets by leading specialists in the field.One objective of the conference is to define the current state of the methodology, and evaluate the systems of cultural heritage which is not transferable as part of the architectural structures of value, this can not be deprived of works on the structures themselves.One of the highlights of this important global debate will deal with the problem that arises more often for all those monuments that are modernized, adapted and modified to meet the needs and standards of modern cities. A problem that poses deep contrasts between management needs of cities and respect and preservation of important works of the past.Who is responsible for preserving the architectural heritage should therefore clarify and define in detail the rules and limitations of interventions, that might be considered prejudicial to the line, and not to the substance of the good historian interest.The international conference in Florence on architectural heritage will take place in two days. It will focus on topics such as:- Presentation and critical evaluation of the existing evaluation methods in existence anywhere in the world.- Proposals for evaluation methods of the built heritage, ways of defining heritage, and the values and tools for their development, or tools to define the values.- Presentation of new ideas in the practical assessment of the architectural heritage.

The conference was organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco. Which is evident every year for his contribution to the cause of promotion, and protection of architectural heritage worldwide. This includes the main objectives of this foundation, which is to help preserve the role Florence has as an international center of trade, and a scientific debate on issues related to cultural heritage, for not only Italians but all over the world, and belonging to all the cultures of the world, in view of improving and promoting intercultural dialogue.
