Do you hate having to wait in a long queue,Know What is Global Entry Application Articles especially at the airport? Does the tedious security check feel so cumbersome to you? If you answered yes to both questions, then it's time for you to get your Global Entry card.

The Global Entry application process is fairly easy. However, it is important to note that not all applicants are guaranteed to get approved.

Here's how you can apply for your Global Entry card.

  1. Submit the online form

The first step in the Global Entry application process is to create your Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) account. Every applicant must create their TTP account, regardless of their age.

Upon logging in your TTP account, complete the online application form. A $100 non-refundable fee is required to be paid upfront upon submitting the application form. It would be a good idea to check with your credit card provider or bank if they reimburse Global Entry application fees, as some banks do.

Expect to provide personal information on your application, such as full name, date of birth, and place of residence. You will also be asked to disclose physical identifiable characteristics, such as height and eye color. It is important to fill out the application form as truthful as possible and only give information that is correct and complete. Failure to do so may lead to the CBP denying your Global Entry application.

  1. Wait for in-person interview schedule

After an extensive review of your application and a background check, conditionally-approved applicants will be given a date for their in-person interview through their TTP account. The interview will be done at the Global Entry Enrollment Center nearest you.

On the date of your interview, remember to bring your valid passport and another form of identification, such as driver's license or valid ID card for verification purposes. For legal permanent residences, you would need to present your permanent resident card.

The interview itself will be quick. Expect it to be around ten to fifteen minutes long. The Global Entry officer will have to verify the information you submitted in your online application form. You might be asked about your current employment status or your previous employment history among other possible questions based on their background check. The Global Entry officer already knows the answer to these questions, they just need to check for your integrity and honesty.

After the interview, you would be asked to have your fingerprints and official photograph taken and you are done with the whole application process. All you have to do is wait for your card to be delivered to you.

It is important to conduct yourself professionally during the interview. Any disrespectful acts towards the Global Entry officer interviewing you or to any other staff at the center may cost you your application.

Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, there are some reported delays in the processing of Global Entry applications, as some Enrollment Centers are closed. However, the CBP announced that they will be opening by August.

  1. Wait for your card to be delivered

Once you are done, all you have to do is to wait for your Global Entry card to be mailed to you in seven to ten days. Some users report receiving their cards even before the given timeframe. Always check your TTP account for updates regarding the status of your Global Entry application.

  1. Use it on your next travel

By the time you received your Global Entry card, you can now use it on your next travel. You can enter your Global Entry card upon booking your online ticket reservation so you can shorten your security check in the airport. When arriving at any of the airports with Global Entry kiosks, all you have to do is to scan your Global Entry card to skip Customs and Immigrations lines.

The entire Global Entry application process is simple. However, because of the current global pandemic, expect some delays in the processing of your application. Nevertheless, Global Entry is one of the things that can make traveling quicker and easier for you.
