 It may be difficult to pigeonhole Las Vegas annual events because the entire city seems to be one big event all of the time. However, like every other city in the United States, Las Vegas has its own unique events that take place throughout the year. Some of the annual events that are open to the public that occur in the city of Las Vegas every year include the following.

Cowboy Christmas Gift Show

If you are looking for cowboy gifts to give for Christmas, then you will want to take a look at the Cowboy Christmas Gift Show held at the convention center that is considered to be the only official gift show of Wrangler National Finals rodeo. For ten days beginning the first weekend in December, you can browse over 300,000 square feet of the convention center that is packed with vendors from all over the United States and Canada. If you have a cowboy or cowgirl on your gift list, this is one event that you will not want to miss.

Miss Rodeo America

The Miss Rodeo America Contest is held for seven days starting on the last Saturday of November. This annual competition is held at the civic center and features 30 contestants who vie for the title of Miss Rodeo America. In addition to the beauty contest, a rodeo is also featured during the festivities. The crowning of Miss Rodeo takes place during the first day of the festival and includes the downtown Hoedown on Freemont Street.

Annual Aviation Convention

The Las Vegas annual Aviation Convention is held during the second weekend of November each year and is one of the largest air shows in the United States. It is presented by the US Air Force and features maneuvers and sky diving at the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. This event is open to everyone and is a favorite of military personnel and their families. It is free to the general public.

Senior Softball World Championship

The last weekend in October is when senior teams from all over the United States come to compete for the Senior Softball World Championship that occurs each year throughout various softball fields in Las Vegas. Just as the World Series is getting under way, so is the Senior Softball World Championship with teams coming from all over the United States as well as Canada to compete in the annual event. Watching at any of the fields is free and there are often refreshments as well as t-shirts sold to benefit Senior Softball USA.

The PRCA Rodeo

The PRCA Rodeo is an annual event that is also called the Laughlin River Stampede. This takes place the last weekend in March of every year at Laughlin River Arena and is presided over by Miss Rodeo America as well as Miss Rodeo Nevada of that year. It includes everything that you would want to see in a rodeo including roping, bull riding and more. This is one of the biggest rodeos each year and there is about $200,000 in prize money that entices some of the best in the rodeo business to attend.
