The Himalayan kingdom of Leh is among one of the principal places of Buddhism.  The superb mountain scenery really fascinates the individual and it takes him to the different realm of the world. Ladakh is a beautiful part of the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and the region is predominantly Buddhist area with the unique beauty of mountains, passes and the breathtaking monasteries.  The region of Leh is actually an oasis of beauty and many parts are barren but there is definitely a factor of pristinely in the wilderness.  This city is located at a high altitude. Some of the major events of the city are its festivals and the tourist can come here via Manali or Kashmir.

 The fascination of Leh Ladakh is primarily because of Leh palace, monasteries and Indian Himalaya. One cannot forget to go to Leh palace and the tourist gets the complete feel of skill of that era. The entrance is carved and it ignites the sense of inculcation for the art and craftsmanship in the individual.  One should have the eagle’s eye to see the religious images wonderfully carved and this is the testimony about the spiritual depth of the region. The snow clad mountains seen from this area reminds the tourist of the cosmic nature and the human conscience associated with this. It sounds as of Shiva is dancing in his cosmic form in the Himalayas of the belt. The spinning of prayer wheels in the monasteries of the region inculcates the feeling of spiritual enhancement in the individual and this is a reminder of salvation.  The garden of marigolds in the Shankar monastery reminds the tourist of the combination of spirituality and the elegance of nature.  The people of the region worship the deity called Mahakala and this deity is god of age extension.

 Leh provides the tourist the feeling with the difference and the individual needs to make a set plan before going for the tour of this place. The Cham festival of this place is attended by the people from the different parts of region and this reminds the individual of the Goan carnival. The mask dancing among the chants of the hymns and organized way of the monks reflects the beautiful culture and tradition of the belt. The tourist has the opportunity to attend the polo match and the archery contest and this will be really passion for the individual if he is a sports enthusiast.  If the tourist loves shopping, he can get many wonderful artifacts in the Tibetian stalls. For a lovely breakfast, the tourist has the option for the cakes and buns.  Enjoy the beauty of the Shanti stupa on the hillock and gain the reflection in mind about the Shanti stupa in Gaya.  The mesmerizing Indus flowing in this wonderful region has reflected the ancient traditions and culture of the subcontinent.
