Lisbon- Medieval Beauty at its Best

Being a travel writer, I enjoy visiting some of the best places in the world. I like meeting new people and making new friends as I explore the newer parts of the world. Today I will be sharing my experience of my trip to Lisbon where I visited many historic and cultural centers of this beautiful place.

The city of Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is regarded as one of the primary centers for Fashion and brands in Europe. This city is one of the few cities in Europe that is situated on the face of the Atlantic Ocean and uses water as the main defining element of this city.

I planned my trip with a journalist friend of mine who also shares the same passion as mine. We looked for the Cheap Tickets to Lisbon on our trusted online travel website and finally we booked our flights to Lisbon. There are a number of online travel blogs and forums that are dedicated to the tourism of Lisbon and thus they offer a number of deals that can be quite tempting and economical. Along with the airfares, these blogs offer services such as sightseeing, car rentals, guides and much more.

Finally we got on board and reached Lisbon well on time. After checking into our hotel rooms, we left out to see and explore the city all by ourselves. The main language that is spoken is Portuguese but there are a number of people who speak and understand English also. So you won’t have any difficulties in navigating through the city. Also opt for the Tram 28 which is one of the best alternatives to the costly tourist trams that are run by the tourism board of the city.

The first that we visited on our trip was Castelo de Sao Jorge. This castle is situated up the hill and offer great views of the old part of the city and the river. The next place that we visited is Ponte 25 which is situated very close to our hotel. This bridge is called as the sister bridge of San Francisco and connects the Lisbon to Setubal peninsula along the River Tagus.

The city of Lisbon is known for its museums and other places of historical interest. From one of the several blogs and websites we had referred to book our cheap flight tickets, we got freebies and discounts on museum entrance tickets. Some of the museums that we visited were:

The Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga is the national museum of Lisbon. This museum has some of the best and rare artifacts and objects that have belong to the past of Lisbon. The Japanese paintings that were made by some of the eminent Portuguese painters were the best thing that we found here. Another museum that is worth visiting is Calouste Gulbenkial Museum. We were offered a discount of about 40% on out entry tickets by one of the blogs of Lisbon. We found this offer when we were searching for the cheap flights to Lisbon.

To sum up my experience of the Lisbon, I loved each and everything about this Portugal city. The people are amazingFeature Articles, the food is delectable and the location is simply stunning.
