There's nothing better than getting away and hitting the slopes with your friends. If you're looking to have a great time whilst you're skiing in Courchevel, why not push the boat out and challenge yourself to ski three valleys in one day?
Whether you're a beginner on the slopes or a seasoned skier, why not celebrate your holiday freedom by going all out and hitting up three slopes instead of one? This epic adventure will mean you'll be sure to leave with fond and probably hilarious memories.
If you're skiing in Courchevel on holiday, you might as well make the most of your break by challenging yourself to get on as many slopes as you can. Start off at Méribel, Les Allues. Make sure you've fuelled up and had a good night's sleep before heading out to the slopes. You'll need to start early if you want to accomplish your challenge.
Get up at the crack of dawn – around 7am – and try and begin the day at the Chaudanne before 9am, to avoid any queues for lifts. From here, head towards St Martin de Belleville, which leads to Val Thorens. To pick up the pace, take the Tougnete 1 gondola then the Tougnete 2. From here, head onto the Jerusalem piste, and then onto the Gros Tougne piste towards Les Menuires.
Take A Break
From Les Menuires, you can take the Doron chairlift, then jump off to ski towards the Bruyéres Gondola. From here, you can ski down, on the left-hand side of the 4 Vents red piste and then take the Mont de la Chambre blue piste straight towards Val Thorens, otherwise known as the highest ski resort in Europe. By this point, lunch will be looming so stop off at the drinking terraces and replenish your body with a bite to eat.
After taking a short break, jump onto the Bouquetin Gondola back to Col de la Chambre. Once back in the middle of Les Allues Vallée, head towards Mottaret by skiing down the Venturon red piste. Follow on from here to Pas du Lac Gondola, which will guide you towards St Bon. Don't forget to take pictures along the way – you'll want to remember the three valleys once it's all over.
Round Up Your Trip in Courchevel
Once you're at St Bon, give yourself a pat on the back! You've reached Courchevel! After some well-deserved celebrating, head down on the Marmottes red run and then onto the Ariondaz Gondola into town. From Courchevel Moriond, make your way towards Courchevel 1850. From here, you can carry on the Brigues Red piste towards Courchevel La Praz.
Take the Praz Gondola towards Courchevel Village. There are multiple hotels, bars and restaurants here so it’s the perfect time for you and your mates to treat yourselves to a much-needed pint and some snacks. If you're too tired to tackle the four lifts that take you back in the direction of Méribel, settle in for the evening by booking a room for the night. Much of the accommodation is affordable, and it can beat having to hurry home in the dark or paying an extortionate amount for a taxi.
Still feeling energetic? If so, take the Chenus Gondola then jump out at La Tania for a last run on the Bouc Blanc and Moretta Blanche pistes before heading back.
Although skiing in Courchevel can seem like enough to keep you satisfied during your break, there's nothing like a full day of skiing across the three valleys! Head out early, try and get as much skiing done before lunch / early afternoon, and reward yourself with a mad night of dancing and booze-filled shenanigans at the après-ski bars. Make the most of it.
