Pack Your Ski Gear and Festival Attire and Head to Morzine This March!

As most keen skiers will know,Make Tracks to Articles Morzine is one of the most popular resorts in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, affording fantastic skiing throughout the entire region. Not only  is it a really great place to be based, you can also expect some great entertainment at certain times of the year.

Rock the Tracks

In March the Rock the Tracks festival offers 5 days of free rock in the Portes du Soleil ski area. Each day a new free concert is held in the midst of the slopes, with free entry as long as you are a ski pass holder. Based in both France and Switzerland, over 28,000 festival-goers will enjoy live concerts at 1.30pm each day for 5 days.

There are over 50 concerts to attend over the course of the festival when you take into account the amazing après, and last year’s artists included some of France’s pop rock royalty as well as DJs and international artists such as Basement Jaxx, Rag and Bone Man and Hannah Wants – so keep an eye out for who will be taking to the ski slope stage this year!

Rock the Treasure Hunt

As if the 117km of amazing ski pistes, 50 concerts and 41 bars weren’t already more than enough to keep you occupied, the ski treasure hunt is not to be missed!

Again, all you need to be able to take part is your ski pass, and on Tuesday and Wednesday 20th and 21st of March, simply ask for a game card at the ticket window in whichever resort you happen to be in on that morning.

The challenge involves finding all 5 well-hidden markers in the huge Portes du Soleil region. With at least 1 marker on both sides of the border, this should be enough to keep you occupied for 48 hours.

Rock the Details

Rock the Pistes takes over the slopes from the 18th to the 25th of March 2018, kicking off at 1.30pm on the 18th. All you need for entry is your ski pass, and you can buy these online before you get there. There is plenty of accommodation for all budgets, so save your extra euros for the excellent après and have the ski holiday of a lifetime!
