Make Your Next European Vacation a Freiburg Vacation!

Right now is the time to start planning your European vacation. It makes no difference if you’ve already been to Europe before or this is your first time. One place to seriously consider for your ideal European vacation is Freiburg, Germany.

Since it's initial foundation in 1120, Freiburg im Breisgau has become an historical and cultural pot-pourri of colors and variety. Located at the very foothills of the Black Forest in the South Western region of Germany, Freiburg is called home by those who thrive on cultural diversity and a wish to receive a high quality education, not to mention attracting people who want a perfect European vacation.

But why is Freiburg a perfect European vacation hot-spot?

Well, after living here for some years I realise that it's difficult to nail down one thing. What enters my mind right away is the following:

• Beautiful, inspiring scenery in and around Freiburg - especially in the hills of the Black Forest.

• The multi-cultural ambiance of the city center with it's international cuisine sure to suit all tastes.

• Strolling along Freiburg’s historical district with 500 year-old cobble-stone streets and buildings.

• Getting a birds-eye view of the surrounding scenery from the Freiburg Minster Cathedral.

• You can easily spend hours and days visiting the museums in the city center.

• And please do not under any circumstances miss the cable car ride across the Schauinsland Hills. The 20 minute ride will take you high above the Black Forest setting leaving everyone amazed by the dramatic panoramas.

• Being just half an hour's drive from France AND Switzerland and just one and a half hours from the Swiss Alps.

That's just what I came up with in a few minutes. What could I write in an hour! Of course it’s very easy for me to think of all that Freiburg has to offer since I live here. For the tourist who decides to stay one or two weeks the highlights are easy to miss.

You’ll regret not having more time to do everything you’ll want to do here. Who knows, you may love it so much you’ll do what I did…decide to move here!.
