 In Montreal, there are many events that you can partake in that occur annually and are open to the public. This city in Quebec celebrates its French heritage with many of their events and festivals. Fete de Neiges

This is "Festival of Snow" and is held at the Parc Jean-Drapeau on second Sunday in January. This includes contests in building snowmen for children, ice sculpture displays, skating, tube slides, sledding and other activities that require snow. Montreal usually gets a generous snowfall at this time of the year, so bundle up and enjoy this annual event.

High Lights Festival

For the last two weeks of February until the first of March, the annual High Lights festival has displays that include various light projections throughout the city and over buildings. There are also fireworks and other family activities that occur during this annual festival that has been taking place for the past 40 years.

Films On Art Festival

The Films on Art Festival is a competitive festival that features films and video about art subject matters. It is held throughout Montreal during the first week of March at various theaters. Anyone can attend this festival or enter a film. If you are visiting Montreal during this time of the year, you should check out the festival which occurs in the downtown district as well as in movie houses throughout the city.

This annual event occurs during the last weekend of April and celebrates the Iberian Latin culture in Montreal. This is an event that takes place throughout the city and includes vendors who sell wares on the sidewalks in the downtown district, films in movie houses as well as music and even street music. This annual celebration of Iberian-Latin culture must be seen to be appreciated and is open to all.

Montreal Chamber Music Festival

Chamber music is a certain type of music that is not often promoted. This is why the Montreal Chamber Music Festival takes place the second weekend of June to promote this music as well as all of its forms, even combining it with jazz. The Chamber Music Festival takes place on Catherine Street in West Montreal and is open to the public for no charge. The entire family can learn to appreciate this form of music when visiting Montreal.

Asian Festival

The Asian Festival is also called the Acces Asie and was created 10 years ago in response to the increasing number of Asians in the area. The festival celebrates the Asian presence with music, dance, theater, film art and other performance throughout the city of Montreal. It is located in downtown Montreal and generally takes place the last weekend of June.

Montreal Bike Fest

The Montreal Bike Fest is a summer event that features three cycling tours as well as pays tribute to the bicycle as a form of transportation. The event is not just bike racing event, but also teaches the history of biking as well as demonstrates new technology for bicycles. The Montreal Bike Fest is also called B Day and is held the second Saturday in July at the Island of Montreal. Any bicycle enthusiast will like this free, fun and informative short festival.
