More Than Your Typical Vacation Attraction - Busch Gardens Florida

Tampa, Florida is a wonderful family vacation and one of the most popular attractions in the city is Busch Gardens, which has been attracting people for almost fifty years now.

Sitting on 335 acres of land, the Busch Gardens in Tampa is a theme park and a zoo at the same time. As a zoo, it houses over 2,700 animals from all around the world and is considered as the largest zoo in the entire state of Florida. But the excitement does not stop there - Busch Gardens also features exciting rides, shows and other exciting attractions.

See The Animals Up Close
The Busch Gardens allows to you experience up close encounters with animals from the wild. Hop on and take a safari through the Serengeti Plains, which is a free-roaming habitat that closely mimics the Serengeti plains of Africa. Sitting on 65 acres of land, the Serengeti Plains is home to impalas, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, ostritches and other animals of the Serengeti. Three other animal exhibits include the Myombe Reserve, which houses three gorillas and chimpanzees from Nairobi. Curiosity Cavern houses small mountail animals like snakes, bats, lizards and sugar gliders. The Edge of Africa is another walk through attraction that houses more African animals such as lions, hyenas, hippos, meerkats and lemurs.

Themed Areas And Rides
Aside from animal exhibits, Busch gardens also features themed areas and rides for the whole family to enjoy. There are around ten themed areas that feature their very own rides. Here are just some of the themed areas and rides that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

- Welcoming you to the gardens is an area themed after Morocco. The entrance houses Zagora Café, Sultan's Sweets, the Moroccan Palance (a 1,200 seattheatre) and the Marrakesh Theater. Morocco features the 90-foot wooden roller coaster named Gwazi.

- The theme park also features a children's section, which is called the Sesame Street Safari of Fun. This section features an interactive play area, a swing ride, a water play area and a little roller coaster which is suitable for children.

- The smallest section of the park - the Crown Colony Plaza features a Skyride Station and a small restaurant. It also houses a museum that features a timeline of photographs and a collection of items from the history of Busch Gardens.
