Head to Arequipa where you find perhaps the best vicuna, baby alpaca, and woolen goods in the country. Shop for blankets, sweaters, and scarves that canít be found anywhere else, shop through the street vendorís offerings situated near the La Compania church or walk the pedestrian mall behind the Pasaje Catedral.

Another great city for Artisan goods is Cusco where you can explore the many markets full of Peruvian handicrafts. If you are looking for a wide range of artisan items check out the Centro Artesanal Cuzco which is the biggest handicrafts market in the city. There are also a wide range of Alpaca goods found in Cusco which are of great quality, look for Mon Repos or Alpaca 3, both great shops full of Alpaca wares. This fun filled festival is celebrated all over the country but the department of Cajamarca is known for its celebration.
