Are you planning a family Vacation in Miami, Florida? While traveling with you family in Miami it is more important then ever to take into consideration the safety of you and your children. Traveling with children can often be stressful enough as it is but add in a new place, having to find you way around, renting a car you are not used to or dealing with public transport can make a trip a disaster. But with good organization your trip will be wonderful. To help you I have prepared some very handing tips to make your trip safe and successful. Safety Belt - Must be worn by every child sitting in the car. During the trip – you must make sure when sitting in the car to wear a safety belt. Transporting children – You are not permitted to drive with over the allowable number of children as specified in the vehicle license. It is a time to ride that means No hand or head out the car window or bus. no Objects are to be thrown within and outside the car or bus and Passengers should keep quiet on the road to prevent disruption to the driver. Exiting from the car –never leave the car unattended with the key still in the Ignition. It's dangerous; the car may deteriorate or be stolen. Always teach children to get out of the car on the side closest to sidewalk. When the driver is exiting always check the side mirrors for other cars or cyclists before opening door. Stopping to unloading children - unloading children from a car must be done in a safe place off the road at an appropriate area or near the sidewalk. If your family has to cross the road, ensure that this is performed quickly and calmly by using an over head, underground pathway or at a pedestrian crossing for the safety of you and your family. Organized Transportation – If minors are traveling by themselves, make sure that transportation vehicles are the owner's and have permission to transport. Vehicles of regulated transportation companies have licenses to transport paying passengers. Waiting for the bus - there is always regulated and safe waiting areas at the station. Do not wait on the road or down from the curb as long as the bus has not stopped. Boarding the bus – you must wait until the bus stops completely, with open doors, board bus only at front door, slowly, carefully and without urgency. Drop off the bus - Remain seated until the bus has stops completely. Exit though front door under the supervision of the driver especially with children. Before moving to your next destination ensure all children are safely off and clear of the bus. Crossing the Road - Practice with your children the rules of crossing the road safely. This is especially important while away on vacation children can get distracted easily in a new place. Ensure that this is performed quickly and calmly by using an over head pathway, underground pathway or at a pedestrian crossing. After looking both ways, walking briskly across but not running. Limitations of vision – Never cross the road from behind a bus or from between parked cars. Make it clear to the children about the importance of safe crossing under the supervision of an adult. Although being on vacation with family is an amazing experience it is very important for you children's safety in busy and new places. Happy and safe traveling
