Ty Mawr Country Park
Ty Mawr Country Park provides you with the fun of being in the farm. This park has been a Green flat awardee since 2006 until today. It has a beautiful setting underneath the majestic Cefn Viaduct along the banks of the River Dee. At Ty Mawr, you get the best location of the River Dee Valley. You can go along the riverside to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct then on to the Cefn Heritage Trail or link with the Offas Dyke National Trail. Ewe-Phoria
Ewe-Phoria is located at Llangwm, Denbigshire between Betws-y-Coed and Lalngollen in North Wales. You can easily go to this place if you are staying at the comfortable Wales holiday cottages. This is a family run exhibition and demonstration centre. Here you will have an inside look into the work of a shepherd and his sheepdog. Aled Owen, multi-awarded International and world sheepdog trial champion will join you in a demonstration of shepherding where the sheepdogs are put through their routines. At the same time, you will see how Aled and the dogs work together. You can also see demonstrations of sheep shearing where you are possibly asked to help out. Demonstrations are held at 1 p.m. and lasts for 1 to 1 ½ hours.
If there is
a litter when you are at Ewe-phoria, you will get the chance to meet the
sheepdog puppies. The Ram Parade is another interesting activity to watch out
for. Different breeds of sheep are
displayed and you will learn about their characteristics such as knowing shat
fleece of wool is best made into a sweater. If you are interested in working
with sheepdogs, Aled conducts sheepdog handling courses. Admission fee is £4.50
for adults, £4 for pensioners and £3.50 for children 3 to 15 which include ram
