Shimla the Home in the Mountains

Himachal Pradesh listed as one of the fascinating worlds of tourist excitement is an amazing state located in the lap of the Himalayas famous mountain ranges covering almost all the northern parts of India. It is a nature abundant state highly ranked for nature attractions. This mountainous state is mostly compose of charming rivers glittering down from high mountains and glaciers melted rivers criss-crossing the entire mountain chains surrounding the state.

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Nestled on the lap of the mighty Himalayas, Shimla was the summer capital of the British. The Ridge is a host of all tourism festivals in Shimla which also leads us to a famous wooden furniture market known as the Lakkar Bazaar. The statues of Mathma Gandhi, Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Dr. Y.S. Parmar, the first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh are displayed on the Ridge as an honor of their contribution to the society.

Viceregal Lodge which was and it’s still the residence place of Honorable President. The lodge is at a walking distance from the centre of the city. The huge building is now transformed into an Institute of higher learning. The massive building has well maintained lawns with mini self-service restaurant.

Rhyali is a grand festival celebrated on the month of July. The lively wood of the Shimla people is agriculture. The season starts with the sowing of five different varieties of crops. Rituals are performed by the oldest member of the family. Offering are made to the Rain God as to bless their harvests.

A short drive from Shimla about 45 kilometers will bring us an interesting Hill Station Chali. Located on the elevation of 2250 meters Chali Hills is a divine land of mesmerizing beauty. Tourists can have a wonderful moment on the Chali hill. The Chili Resort offers hut with home sweet home facilities.

The tourists cannot miss a ride to Kalka-Shimla Railway granted the 'World Heritage Status' by UNESCO. The toy train journey of 3 hours takes us through a pictorial background of green pasture, oak treesScience Articles, wild pomegranates and the Himalayan springs.
