Wherever you are destined for a holiday, there would be objects special to that region which would draw your attention. Besides, the holiday mood gets the better of a tourist and going on a shopping binge is not unusual or unlikely.

Many times, the hotel one checks into has a shopping arcade showcasing the best the country one visits has to offer. No tour of a foreign country would be complete without a visit to the market where one picks up the local flavor of the land. Seeing a foreign face, shopkeepers, vendors etc make a beeline and bring out the best they have in stock in the hope of getting a good price from the visitor.

There are destinations such as Singapore and Dubai that offer duty-free shopping and so the temptation is all the more. Since they are also the greatest shopping hubs of the world, they attract the attention of leading manufacturers of the world who at times launch their products from these markets. It is guaranteed that whatever you are taking from here is the best and the latest.

Add to it the shopping festivals that keep being organized as a regular feature in these countries and there is no escape. When you have planned a trip around the festival/carnival time, you could be assured some really opportune deals of the buy-one-get-two-free kind; lucky draw coupons that could even earn you a premium car; also reimbursement of your travel tickets or buyouts for half the marked price. It could even make great business sense if you bought stuff at throwaway prices from such bonanzas and sold them at their actual price in your home country.

Spending in a foreign land on even things you are likely to find in your own country is not a bad idea as it enhances your holiday experience and makes the memory of your trip all the more delectable. Of course your handy cam would be chockablock with golden memories but returning from a faraway land with a bag bursting at the seams with goodies is another high.
