The Informal Baroque of Sergio Scatizzi until 20 November closed Mondays from 8.15 to 18.50, Palazzo Pitti Florence
until 20 November The modern art gallery in Palazzo Pitti, Florence, hosts an exhibition dedicated to Sergio Scatizzi, a “91-years old-boy,” who is a main player in the 20th century Tuscan art. The exhibition presents a selection of 61 works depicting his vision of nature, characterized by abrupted signs and colors that become increasingly dominant. The subjects represented are: Nature, the Tuscan countryside, and flowers, especially roses. The exhibition ends with a selection of 17th century Florentine paintings, coming from Scatizzi’s private collection, chosen by the author to explain the evolution of his paintings.
