When you’re in the city, one of the best ways to enjoy Vivid Sydney is by going for a Vivid cruise Sydney. This is an amazing way to truly appreciate the sights that Sydney has to offer. Vivid Sydney is one of the most awaited events ever. It lasts for three weeks and generally takes place in May and June. Unfortunately, last year the event was cancelled due to worldwide health restrictions. This year with much caution and anticipation, the NSW government has decided to host the event again. With the light projections being the main centrepiece, the August 2021 Vivid will be nothing short of glorious.

The origin of this festival was as a smart light festival back in 2009. This was curated by Mary-Anne Kyriakou and Brian Eno was the headliner along with lighting designer Bruce Ramus and its main goal was energy efficiency. They were able to project light painting on both sides of the Sydney Opera House. Currently, it is one of the biggest festivals of lights, music, and ideas in the world.

Majority of the people who come to visit and experience Vivid Sydney, come to take part in the Vivid Lights. It is also commonly known as the Vivid Light Walk. This takes place through The Rocks, Circular Quay and Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. This gives you the chance to interact with the light installations using unique technologies. The large-scale projection can be viewed on many of the historical buildings of Sydney such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Customs House, Cadmans Cottage and even the Sydney Harbour Bridge. These locations will be beautifully illuminated and are a spectacular sight to witness.

Vivid Music is another aspect of this happening event. This part of the festival includes musical performances and concerts by artists both local and international. Enjoy contemporary music events which take place in the Sydney CBD. For the past few years, Carriageworks has been playing host to the music events of Vivid.

Along with all of thisFeature Articles, there are Vivid Ideas. This is a compilation of the innovations and creativity can be seen. The talks and discussions that take place in this is truly enthralling and gives you insight on things you would never imagine generally.
