Three Reasons to Pass on Disney FASTPASS

Learn when it might make more sense to go "stand-by" on your favorite Disney attraction instead of getting a FASTPASS. See how easy it is to make this decision.

As you arrive at your favorite Disney Theme Park attraction, should you wait in the stand-by line or grab a FASTPASS ticket and return later? There are times when the stand-by line is the better choice.
The Stand-By Clock
Take a look at the clocks above both the stand-by and FASTPASS distribution entrances. The stand-by clock displays the approximate wait time if you were to get in line right then and there. If this time is 15 minutes or less it behooves you to wait it out. If you choose to get a FASTPASS instead, you might easily spend that 15 minutes (or more) hauling back to the attraction later. Even more importantly, because you can only have one FASTPASS at a time, you will be complicating your plan unnecessarily.
The FASTPASS Clock
If you see that the return time for a FASTPASS is many hours out, be wary about deciding on FASTPASS for this attraction. By doing so, you are giving up the opportunity to use FASTPASS on other attractions (in some cases for the entire day). In this case even if the stand-by line is a little longer than ideal, you are better off using it.
MUST-DO Attractions
FinallyBusiness Management Articles, only grab a FASTPASS for those attractions that are high on your priority list. You do not want to miss out on experiencing your favorite attractions by waiting for one you would ultimately give or take.
And one more thing; you cannot "cancel" a FASTPASS. Stop and think through the timing before assuming a FASTPASS is what you need.
