It is actually named as Mount Pisgah. Mount Pisgah was purchased in early 1953 on December 12, 1954 from its original owner by Walt Schoenknecht and renamed it as Mount Snow. He owned this ski resort for many years and developed it into one of the largest ski areas in the country.

The Carinthia ski was connected to Mount snow trails in 1986. Then five years later, haystack Mountain ski area was purchased and was a part of It. But later in 2005 it was sold and closed down.

They saw the establishment of the first snowboard park in the east, in 1992, named as Un Blanco Gulch. The Gulch was the freestyle terrain until the 2008- 2009 season. The 4th annual Winter X-games were hosted there in 2000. Kelly Clark, from Mount Snow won the first American gold medal in 2002 Winter Olympics.
