Top Five Beaches in Central America

A list of my all time favourite beaches in Central America. Although, I am sure there are still a lot more to find!

Manuel Antonio – Pacific Coast - Costa Rica

Inside the national park of the same name beach number 3 offers sheltered swimming in emerald green water whilst listening to the shrill sound of howler monkeys swinging from the jungle canopy surrounding the bay. Sloths hang lazily in the tree tops watching the white faced capuchin monkeys chase the caoti’s.

Tulum – Mayan Riviera Coastline – Mexico

A palm fringed stretch of powder white sand lapped by crashing turquoise waves with hidden accommodation options with palapa (thatched) roofs. Towering above on the cliffs, behind your Tulum beach accommodation, are the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum - a sight to behold. One can soak up ancient history as well as the rays.

Playa Ancon – Trinidad – Cuba

An idyllic stretch of soft white sand backed by scrub land offers a welcome peaceful retreat from the buzz and bustle of Cuban life on the street in Trinidad. Relaxing with a book and swimming in the varying shades of the turquoise Caribbean is the order of the day.

Caye Caulker – Belize

“Go slow” is the motto here and whilst not really a “beach” the SplitBusiness Management Articles, where the island was chopped in two by Hurricane Hattie is the place to chill with the Rasta’s. Fantastic snorkelling on the world’s second longest barrier reef with abundant nurse sharks and sting rays whilst in season can see the magnificent manatees.

West Bay – Roatan – Bay Islands – Honduras

Swim in warm water more transparent than out of the tap where you can pull your lounger into the slightly lapping sea in order to keep cool whilst tanning in Paradise. Cheap diving offers close up encounters with lobsters and turtles.
