Instow

Instow is another beach that you must visit during your holidays.  It can be found on the border of the Torridge estuary. You can spend a day here with your family instead of exploring the popular Torquay attractions and picnic on the soft sands of this beach. The mild climate at this beach is because it does not directly face the Atlantic. The towering cliffs protect the beach so there are no pounding waves here and the surroundings as well as the azure waters are clean and calm. You can swim at the beach or play with your children on the sand and build some beautiful sandcastles. If you want something more adventurous, try out the different water sports such as windsurfing, scuba diving and sailing. Cricket is also played at the beach so you can either join it or watch the game. You can see the quaint village of Appledore from Instow Beach and if you are tempted to go to the village, there is a ferry service that goes there. The different beaches of Torquay have their own special attractions that make them very attractive to holidaymakers and locals alike.
