Town and Country Weekends in Britain

If you enjoy the great outdoors but enjoy your home comforts as well, there are many towns in the United Kingdom that can provide a comfortable base close to all modern amenities, while being within easy reach of some glorious British countryside. Corby hotels, for example, benefit from being housed within a town that combines the historic and the modern, with some handsome stately homes and attractive stone cottages sitting close to modern bars and restaurants. Another key part of their appeal is that they are within a stone’s throw of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, where visitors can take things at as active or leisurely a pace as they like. Wildlife-spotting rambles and picnics make fun days out for kids, while cross country runs and mountain biking across a beautiful landscape are more energetic pursuits to be enjoyed here. After burning some serious energy, visitors to this part of the country can return to the comforts of their hotel for a hot shower and maybe a drink in the hotel bar before heading out to one of Corby’s many good restaurants. Likewise, Braintree in Essex is a modern British town with good shopping, drinking and dining and good transport links, and it is also well located for anybody interested in exploring the beautiful Essex countryside. Essex is one of the most scenic parts of England’s southeast, and visitors here can take canal boat rides, visit stately homes, take long, leisurely walks or cycle rides and then return to their Braintree hotels, of which there are several good options in the town, to freshen up and relax in comfort. Of course, there are ‘outdoor types’ who swear that camping under the stars is the only way to see the countryside at its best, but anyone who has camped in the mud and rain and suffered lukewarm showers will agree that sometimes a hotel is the more pleasant option. Wherever you choose to stay for your country breakArticle Submission, being close to all modern conveniences can make things a lot more comfortable than they might be at a campsite in the back of beyond.
