There are two train stations: the Alicante train station and the Alicante Narrow Gauge Railway Station. The primary Alicante train station is run by RENFE and connects to main Spanish cities daily. You can also use a EuRail to travel by train to and from France and Spain. Alicante train station is in the centre of the town on Avenida de Salamanca. The typical trip from Madrid to holiday rentals in Alicante is about 4 hours. The narrow gauge railway station is operated by FGV: Fenocarils de la Generalitat Valenciana. This station connects to the towns of Benidorm, Villajoyosa, Altea, Denia and Calpe. This train station is close to the harbour on Avenida Villajoyosa 2.

An additional way to travel is by the Alicante Streetcar. The Alicante street car is fast and runs near to the sea front. Some people also call it the metro as it also runs underground: part from Mercado Central, passing Plaza Luceros in the direction of the major train station.

To journey to your chosen holiday home, you can also hire a car. To get to Alicante, just take the A-7 motorway from the French border. You can also consider the national route N-340 from Barcelona or Valencia. Both of these two key roads will lead you to Alicante. Alicante cars are offered for a range of charges and amounts of time.
