What was once called the working holiday visa, the United Kingdom has upgraded and in some instances improved this visa for applicants. They are now calling it the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme and it is a great way for the younger travellers amongst us to work and travel throughout the United Kingdom. Unlike the old working holiday visa there is no longer a limit on the amount of time you can spend working while in the United Kingdom. Visa holders can work the entire two year period if they so wish, with the only restriction being that the visa holder must not engage in business or qualify as a professional sports person during this time.
Some of the other requirements for the youth mobility visa is that you need to have a passport from one of these countries; Australia or New Zealand or either Canada, Japan or Monaco. You will also need to prove that you have a sum of 1600 Great British pounds in your bank account at the time of applying for the youth mobility visa. Unfortunately, if you have any dependants that either do or don't live with you, you are not eligible for this visa. Given the age group that this visa targets, 18 to 30 year olds, this will immediately rule some applicants out.
