Adware is very annoying, but is it a real threat to your computer's security?

The majority of Internet users encountered adware, and knows how annoying it can be. This article lists the symptoms of adware infection, and easy solution to remove adware.

What is adware

Web-advertising becomes progressively annoying from day to day. Number of sites increases extremely fast, and there are plenty of ads on every one of them. Ads overwhelm the pages that you visit, social networking sites where you are registered, you get spam on the e-mail and pop-ups on your favorite pages. Nobody will be happy about it, so customers began to set extra settings in their browsers to remove the intrusive commercials. After that, adware emerges. In fact, adware is a form of harmful program that is not aimed at the destruction or damaging files, yet to modify the browser settings. Why adware does this? Because the user has no choice, than to see the commercials, which adware exhibits him. Malware switches browser settings to unlock hype, search engine affords unreliable results and some of the viral websites becomes the start page. The danger of such activities is that, despite adware itself does not affect, but those sites which it promotes, are captured with far more hazardous malware. And in case man takes such advertising at face value and tries to either buy or download something on a harmful site - he immediately gets a whole lot of viruses to his PC.

How to get rid of adware

To uninstall adware from the computer, first you need to discover it. When you spot an enlarged amount of pop-ups, intrusive advertising and spam on the web - it means, that your computer is infected with adware. Antivirus is the best tool to discover and delete it. If you already have an antivirus, and adware still works on your PC, then one antimalware is not sufficient. Databases of different anti-virus updates at various times and when one antivirus can yet detect and remove some malware, another anti-viral program still does not have it in its database. To ensure your computer's defense, it is advisable to install two antivirus on your computer. One of them has to work in the passive manner, and scan the hard drive sometimes, and the other needs to be with 'real-time protection' system, and scans incoming files. There are plenty of various anti-virus, both fee-based and free, and to select from such a multiplicity, you will need a lot of time. Among the toll-free anti-virus users prefer Adwcleaner or Norton. By installing one of these tools as a primary or secondary anti-viral program, you’ll immediately see that ads have become less.

How to protect the system from malicious programs

Firstly, don't remove the anti-viral program, it shall scan the system regularly, and threat of adware infection will lower. Also, the unwanted programs often enter the system with files, downloaded for free. The content of the files doesn't matter. It depends not on the type of files, just on the wish of a user to save money "no matter what". Such users, usually, pay twice. First - for needed file, and second - for removing of the virus. If you downloaded a viral file, attached to some program, you still have a chance to avoid the installation of adware. Watch closely on the installation process, and read everything, that appears in the installation menu. Follow these simple rules, and your PC will be clean and fast for a long years!
