Building A Professional Website

There is no specific or set way to design the perfect website. Every website is unique in its own way and therefore the design needs to be tailored to meet the needs of the website. For example,Building a Professional Wbsite Articles you could have a personal website, small business website, or an e-commerce website, all of which require different ground rules for their design. The content in each of these sites would differ greatly and how the specific content is displayed on each site would depend on what type of site it was as well.

What makes a website work, and have good design instead of bad is generally the targeted audience that the website is trying to reach. If the website is designed for the targeted audience in mind than you probably have a good design.

These are a couple of tips for designing your site:

General Website Design

File Sizes: Always attempt to keep your file sizes down. The smaller the file size, the faster the download and the faster your page will load. The longer it takes for your page to load, the more likely that your audience will get frustrated and head elsewhere for what they need.

Screen Sizes: Always keep in mind that although your screen size may be quite large there are always people who are using older monitors. If your website is designed for a screen larger than 800 x 600 pixels you might be missing out on a good chunk of your audience. Designing for a larger screen size than this will result in parts of your website not being seen by others.

Web Design 101

Smaller companies or individuals who run their own company often have a smaller budget and staff. This doesn't allow for a lot of resources to go towards website development and it also means that you would have to learn all the technology of building a website yourself. The best idea would probably be for you to spend time on what you do best, which would be to run your company.

Don’t be fooled by the “I know a friend of a friend who could build a website for cheap”. A professional website is not created as easily as you would think and for your website to be successful you need someone who will work with you through the entire process and still be there to help you manage all aspect of your website on a regular basis.
