One of the most important factors when creating a website is adding 'ORIGINAL CONTENT' to your site. You could create a 200 page website with thousands of affiliate links,The Importance of Original Content Articles recommendations and banner advertisements, but if there is no original content, you are unlikely to be placed highly (if at all) in search engine rankings and even less likely to keep visitors interested enough to stick around.

When people visit your website they will be looking for something that is of use to them, whether it be products, information, knowledge or entertainment. Your aim is to ensure that you have something of interest so that these visitors stay on YOUR site longer. You need to have more than just content - you need ORIGINAL CONTENT.

A site with copied or duplicate content is of no benefit to your visitors, if they come to your website and realise what they are reading they have seen before, they will leave as quickly as they arrived - results, lost traffic, lost sales.

If everything on your website can be found elsewhere - you have wasted your time.

You need to build as many pages of original content as possible. Initially aim to create over 30 pages of real, original content on your site.

Ensure that what you write about contains individual keywords that enhance the theme of your sites pages. It will give you more opportunities to be seen in the search engine results for a wide variety of key phrases.

Make sure you KNOW what you are writing about, if you don't know enough about your chosen topic then research.

Write in-depth descriptions, articles and reviews. Ensure that you describe everything you are reviewing, researching, advertising and every company you are recommending. Avoid entire pages being 'doorway' passages that only link to other sites and contain no other content.

Current topical articles are ideal to write about. If there is a new product due for release in your chosen sector or market place, write about it in advance, be the first to show up in search results and show you are a master in your chosen field.

Always ensure you spell check your documents before you publish them to your website - people wont take you seriously if they think you can't spell or are too lazy to check the grammar in your content.

'Spiders' love words. Look at it this way; the more content - the more keywords - the more search engines will pick up - the more times your site is displayed in search results. The more often you add content, then the more often the spiders will come crawling. More content, more traffic, more clicks, more sales....

Update your site as often as possible and regularly add extra pages of content. Aim to add a new page every 2-3 days with around 300-500 words to ensure your site and content are up-to-date, interesting and most importantly 'original'. This will also ensure that the 'spiders' re-visit your website on a regular basis.

The rest is now up to you.
