Brooches have existed for years. If you are lucky enough you may be able to get your hands on an antique brooch.

Brooches have been around since as early as the 14th century B.C. The antique brooch first gained its popularity by holding clothing such as cloaks and robes together in place. Once the antique brooch was known for its usefulness as securing items,Antique Brooch Articles it then became a fashionable accessory. If you or someone you know has an antique brooch, but it's a bit tarnished and you want to gain its original sparkle back, all you have to do is search your home. You need ½ a cup of water, a few drops of dishwashing soap and a few drops of ammonia (which most people have in their homes already). Before you wash your antique brooch, make sure the stones that are in, it is not loose and that there is no foil showing from the back of the stones. Once you've done that you may then begin cleaning your antique brooch with a small brush (preferably a tooth brush). Be careful though not to loosen the stones or push them out for it will devalue your jewelry, not to mention it will look pretty goofy and not pretty. If you want to clean your brooch even better I suggest you take toothpicks and or pipe cleaners to get in between the stones even better for the best results.

The antique brooches are actually pretty interesting once you start researching them. The antique brooches back when they first originated were not only made for holding pieces of clothing together, but they also served to symbolize ranks and professions of people. The antique brooches were worn to decipher those who were single, married, man, woman, chief, and warriors back in the day.

After searching the web and or local antique stores a personal favorite of many consumers happens to be the antique cameo brooch. The antique cameo brooch comes in just about every color and stone there is out there, but most are the majority are made with either white or peach porcelain and in that porcelain a woman's face is carved. My absolute favorite antique cameo brooch is the black one. The full name in its entirety is the "Antique Silver Black Charm Cameo Brooch." It has the face of a woman etched in a black porcelain material looking towards the right. There are clear and black stones surrounding the woman's head on the outside in a circular fashion, along with three strands of black stones that dangle from the bottom half of the brooch. The Antique Silver Black Charm Cameo Brooch sells at a low price of $14.62, which is an incredible deal for such a great piece of jewelry. You can wear these brooches on just about anything. I personally think it looks great pinned to a funky scarf and it also looks great pinned to hats such as the fedora hats, which are the hats Justin Timberlake is mostly known for wearing. If you have any more questions on brooches or where you can find them, your best bet would be the internet.
