Babouska—Gucci Gift Giver

Gucci Babouska, Designer Handbags, UNICEF, 207282 A3Y3Z 1000
Introduction of a series of Gucci bags named “BABOUSKA” and its relation to UNICEF

When I came across this Gucci medium top handle bags under the name of Babouska, I had no idea of its meaning. Later I found out that it means grandmother in Russian, and Babouska is the most popular gift giver in Russia during Christmas vacation, and she is the “grandmotherly” type traveling with her basket of food and toy.

As I see it, the reason Gucci named its bag Babouska is the generosity and love it represented. This series of bags are also part of the charity project for the African kids for whom Gucci has been dedicated to. Therefore, the bag stands for the Gucci gift for those AIDS victims. I knew many people may misunderstood its name, and regard it old-fashioned bag. Actually, the bad is lovely and cute, especially the one with adorable rabbit pattern, glorious rivets and large hearts design. While this double handled—bag with detachable shoulder strap, zip-top closure, heart-shaped Gucci crest charms is more mature and dressy. It has a large capacity and is trimmed with antique brass hardware.
