Dentists,Do Not Let Just Anyone Touch Your Face: Choose A Botox Surgeon Articles housewives, and aestheticians are all trying to make a quick buck off of cosmetic injectable fillers. While there will be risks involved regardless of who administers the substance, it is highly recommended to choose a Botox surgeon over someone who is not board certified. While you may find people willing to sell less expensive treatments, it isn't worth the potentials risks involved. Besides, if you save one hundred dollars but waste five hundred due to poor results, you haven't really received a good deal after all.

So who can legally administer cosmetic injections? Regulations vary by state, but in general, most professionals with permission to practice medicine can administer treatments. In some states, nurses and medical assistants may be allowed to give injections to patients, but usually this must be performed in a facility with a doctor present. These loose regulations have led to many people with little experience in the cosmetic field to pick up a needle in order to earn some easy side money. One example is nurses who may no longer be practicing medicine actively but still retain their license. They often make house calls and arrange special parties for larger groups of people who all wish to undergo the procedure. While it may seem tempting to split your bill and save some cash, you might also end up with a waxen face and no hope of revision or a refund.

While legally any medical professional can administer Botox, a surgeon is always the better choice for several reasons. Firstly, they have specific experience including a deep understanding of facial balance and aesthetics. Not only is it important to administer an injectable properly, but also success hinges on the proper amount. Half of a mm of filler can make be the difference between a natural effect and a frozen expression. In addition to more experience, surgeons have more insight into what combination of treatments is best and will achieve the desired results. There are several injectables on the market, and it is not unusual for a plastic surgeon to recommend using more than one or adding additional non-invasive procedures for a better outcome.

While even a Botox surgeon cannot guarantee ideal results each time, they often will provide you with aftercare services if there is a problem. If you find too little was used or have experienced another negative side effect, most surgeons will do what they can to improve the situation or provide you with some form of compensation, such as a free touch-up later on. Other professionals are much less likely to address problems following a treatment because it makes up a much smaller portion of their practice. Peace of mind is another reason to choose a board certified surgeon. Would you really feel comfortable getting wrinkle advice from the same person who spends most of their days cleaning teeth and filling cavities? The two professions, although linked, are worlds apart. You wouldn't want a plastic surgeon cleaning your teeth so why reverse the situation?
