•    Have your family members with you

The best way to deal with such stress and tension is by staying in the presence of family members and relatives who create a positive environment for the woman. They comfort her, try to keep her happy and help her forget the tragic experience she has just gone through.

•    It’s not the fault of the woman

The woman needs to understand that the abortion was not her fault and that she needn’t feel guilty for the same. The husband or partner plays a big role in helping a woman understand and accept this. She needs to overcome the grief and get on with a normal life once again.

•    Keeping oneself busy

Going out with friends and family members and keeping herself busy is another way to deal with the trauma and stress she experiences. If the woman has been working during her pregnancy, she needs to continue doing so while woman who are housewives should never stay alone at home and always have near and dear ones for company.

•    Take appropriate anti depressants

The woman should take appropriate anti-depressants or medicines if necessary as they help relieve stress, allow her to overcome it and also relax the brain. However, a woman should limit the intake of such pills and medications and consult her doctor before consuming it.

•    Face up to the facts

If a woman feels that she is experiencing a void she cannot fulfill, she must acknowledge the fact instead of running away from it. This will help her deal with the abortion better and she will be able to recover from it instead of feeling traumatized about it. Abortion isn’t easy for any woman and as her partner or family members, it’s your duty to help her out during these testing times.
