Eyelash dye is a very effective way to transform your light pale lashes. Many women with light colored lashes have a tendency to overuse mascara’s and other enhancement products that can ultimately lead to eyelash damage. By combining a proper lash dye with a growth enhancement serum you may just be able to eliminate the need for mascara altogether.

Having your eyelashes dyed at the salon on regular bases can become expensive and time consuming for today’s active lifestyles. Your eyelashes continue to re grow in a continuous cycle. You will need to keep up with your lashes in the same way you do with your roots if you color your hair.

However dyeing eyelashes is a procedure you can easily do on your own in the comfort of home as part of your regular beauty treatment.  A quick stop at the local drug store or beauty supply shop will garnish everything you need.  Normally these lash dye kits only come in either black or brown and contain everything you need as well as instructions to follow. Proceed with caution if you have very sensitive skin or are easily allergic.

The process is generally easy to follow and will go something like this. Your kit will include a tube of dye,How To Dye Eyelashes At Home Articles a wand for application, stir stick & mixing tray and a solution for activation. If you’ve ever dyed your hair this will all be a very familiar process.  Depending on the kit it may or may not come with splash guards to protect any areas where the dye is not intended for. A quick tip is to simply apply a small amount of Vaseline to the surrounding eye area. This will prevent any staining in areas where the dye is not intended.

Always follow the manufactures instructions but in general you want to squeeze a small amount of dye into the mixing tray then adding a few drops of activation liquid. Mix this thoroughly but remember you don’t want it to be to runny or it won’t stay on the eyelash very well and will make the initial application difficult.
Next apply the now mixed and ready lash dye using the provided application wand. Be sure to get as close to the base your lash as possible gently coating the top of the entire lash followed by underneath. This will ensure that the lash dye is even and uniform.

Then simply wait the suggested time that’s usually around 5 to 10 minutes. Depending on your hair type the wait time may flocculate in order to obtain the desired effect.  Next remove the lash dye being very careful not to get any dye solution in the eye itself. Always read the kit’s safety instruction first so if any dye does enter the eye you will already know the recommended procedure. Gently pat your face and lashes dry trying not to rub.

I would recommend if your intent is to also use an eyelash growth enhancer to wait at least 2 days between dying lashes and applying the growth serum. Once you’ve completed the lash dying process your ready to go but be mindful to care for your eyelashes and apply a conditioner nightly. This can be store bought or simply use a touch of olive oil or Vaseline to help prevent your eyelashes from drying out or becoming brittle.
