From the very moment that lipstick was born, scientists and cosmetics creators have tried to make the product as pleasing to the eyes as possible.
Yes it is true that safety is first, and ease of use and preserving the product is quite important. However it is all about looks after that. Visual affect, color choices, they come and go depending upon what is the trend and the current style, however lipstick has a staying power that other items just do not have. There is a product, that seems to be forever in demand, and may never fall out of favor. That amazing product is lip gloss. the amazing thing about lip gloss is that it is not a lip stick or a lip balm. Gloss does not radically change the color of lips, nor is is a medicine used to cure damage. Gloss gives an already beautiful set of lips the glossy surface and shine the owners desires.
At the time of lip gloss’s birth, the product was designed in many different types. Liquids that were see through transparent, as well as glosses that cam in shades to offer a varied array of over all finishes. Max Factor is credited with the creation of lip gloss during the year 1930. This creation was the result of difficulties in bringing out the lips of film actress during production of black and white movies. By 1932, the product had crated such a rage, the gloss was released for commercial sale to the public. Lip gloss became wildly popular and a great sale product in all of thw western countries of the world. It became obvious quickly that the product not only enhanced beauty, but it gave physical protection to the lips from weather and wind. Protection from excess sun exposure, and water as well. It soon became as popular as lipstick.
It was during the year of 1970, that lip gloss made history again. Bonnie Bell delivered the product named Lip Smackers to the US public, and the teenage girl market was tapped into in an enormous way. These days there are literally hundreds of lip glosses to choose from in as many shades, if not more than that of lip sticks. Glosses can be applied with a tube, the fingers, and other applicators, and is a wonderful cosmetic accomplishment. These days, often times glosses are used simply as protection on windy winter days, while a person is subjected to outdoor exposures.
